Patel Integrated Logistics Limited (PILL) announces the acquisition of 25 Line Haul Trucks as a part of its strategy to grow its Retail Operations in the country. The new fleet of vehicles include 10 X 9.00 Tonne & 5 X 16.00 Tonne vehicles. Additional 10 Trucks are proposed to be acquired during the fourth quarter of FY08, for which orders have been placed and deliveries would commence from January 2008.
The enlarged fleet would be deployed in the lucrative East & North East Sectors of the country, thereby linking up the cities of Bongaigaon with Kolkata onto Kanpur and Delhi. PILL foresees a massive growth exceeding 25 per cent per annum from the Retail segment, especially for Door to Door, Door to Godown, Godown to Door and Godown to Godown, pick up and time definitive delivery services.
As a prelude, PILL has opened a string of branches covering the entire Eastern Sector. These include the cities of Siliguri, Guwahati, Patna, Behragoda, Cuttack & Bhubaneshwar. To enable efficient fleet management, all New Trucks acquired, would be fitted with the VTS (Vehicle Tracking System), which allows Real Time Tracking of vehicles during the entire 2000 Kms journey on the Highways, allowing complete control on business & material giving the customer utmost reliability and adherence to the assured delivery schedule.
PILL has a massive fleet expansion plan under process which would comprise the addition of 25 New Line Haul Trucks in FY09, followed up by another 50 Line Haul Trucks in FY10. These will be in addition to 75 New Pick-Up Vehicles in FY08 and going upto a fleet size of 1000 Pick-Up Vehicles by FY10.
The Rs 283 crore PILL is the 3rd largest integrated logistics player with a PAN India presence, operating over 1000 trucks and moving half a million tonnes of Cargo per annum for 65,000 discerning clients that include ABB, Larsen and Toubro, ITC, GE and SAIL
